Orquesta Dharma
Salsa dance lesson
with Karen & Michael

Orquesta Dharma makes its Ashkenaz debut with a salsa splash and a celebration of the music from its award-winning debut CD, “Road Warrior.” The recording bursts with Afro-Cuban Latin jazz tunes and luminescent playing topped by an incisive horn section. It was voted “2011 Next Generation Latin Jazz Album of the Year” by Latin Jazz Corner. In the April 2012 issue of Latin Beat, Rudy Mangual wrote, “The Northern California-based trombonist/composer/arranger/educator Jamie Dubberly displays good vibes via the up-tempo ambiance and brilliantly tight arrangements of ‘Road Warrior,’ his debut as bandleader and record producer... a distinctively refreshing and powerful sound.”

“Road Warrior” album was a labor of love that Dubberly painstakingly recorded in San Francisco over a period of three years, while he played in such bands as Avance and Mazacote. His Orquesta Dharma is bassist Sam Bevan, pianist Andy Nevala, drummer Brian Andres, singer-percussionists Carlos Caro and Omar Ledezma, and saxophonist-flutist Pete Cornell.
