“Not Entirely Dead” Fridays with Shakey Zimmerman

  • Ashkenaz Music & Dance Community Center 1317 San Pablo Avenue Berkeley, CA, 94702 United States (map)

Doors at 8pm ~ Show at 8:30pm

The first Shakey Zimmerman show of 2023 comes to Ashkenaz on February 10th. The songs of Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

Led by singer/guitarist Pat Nevins, Shakey Zimmerman travels the decades tonight with two sets of famous and deep cut songs that are fronted by Nevins and his uncanny ability to channel both famous voices.

Well known to Ashkenaz audiences for many years, Nevins first appeared at Ashkenaz in 2004 with Grapefruit Ed and Workingman’s Ed. Both bands helped to jump start the live Grateful Dead nights at Ashkenaz that have continued on through the years. Nevins also played as an original member of Ghosts Of Electricity who performed their first show ever at Ashkenaz.

Joining Nevins is longtime band mate Jody Salino. Salino, known for his finger picking guitar work has remarkable interplay with Nevins over the vast catalog of songs. Rounding out Shakey Zimmerman is drummer/vocalist Justin Wooster, bassist Jan Paul Sassenberg and keyboardist, Paul Rustigan of the Freestone Peaches.

Join Shakey Zimmerman for a night of Bob Dylan Neil Young and more! Shakey Zimmerman brings the jam heat to Ashkenaz with satisfaction guaranteed.
